About

Clever Cricket Review is an independent-minded publication about cricket equipment: what its parts are for, how design choices differ and how kit fits into the game. It is for curious players, watchers and readers who want to understand equipment without being pushed towards a purchase.

What we cover

We look at bats, balls, protective equipment, clothing and the routines around caring for kit. Articles explain terms, compare options in context and trace how familiar equipment took shape. The aim is understanding, not a catalogue of products or a verdict on what every reader should buy.

How we approach it

We separate general explanations from claims that depend on a particular product or playing context. We favour clear descriptions, acknowledge limits and avoid presenting equipment as a substitute for sound judgement. Where a question depends on current product instructions or circumstances, readers should consult the relevant information rather than treat a general article as a definitive answer.

Who it is for

The publication is for readers at any level of familiarity with cricket kit, including people encountering its terminology for the first time. We value useful questions, plain language and making the most of equipment already owned.
